Summary of the Role
Due to internal restructure and promotion our client is keen to recruit a highly commercially and strategically focused senior manager to play a key role in developing the procurement department. Reporting into the Supply Chain Director you will manage and develop a team of 5 purchasing specialists and administrators.
In this key role you will be given full autonomy for:
- Managing the purchasing budget and inventory availability to meet ever changing / growing sales requirements
- Implementation of new supplier opportunities and service offerings to sales and operations groups.
- Implement and develop supply chain strategies.
A motivated and hands on manager you will have strong work ethic and desire to succeed and develop the department
About You:
- From a engineering or heavy manufacturing background you with be a dynamic and adaptable purchasing manager
- Working with world class suppliers you will be a strong negotiator who is able to develop effective and sustainable working relationships
- As well as proven professional experience you will have a strong educational background and ideally hold an engineering or purchasing qualification
